Just got our new seat tracks today and mounted them up to the new bucket frames for our bucket conversion. WOW these things are tight. The locking side will move with some force, but the idler side takes a hammer to move it. The idler side doesn't extend the same distance as the latching side which may throw off our bracket points.

When looking at the tracks, did the originals have a crown from front to back? If I were to place a strait edge from the front to the back of the track, there is ~1/8-3/16" crown upwards (away from the floor) in the middle of the tracks. I'm assuming it's normal, but I've got to figure out a way to get these things sliding.

Very discouraging...

I greased mine a little helped out a ton. Mine were original GM and they were tight until I greased them. A very light greasing so it doesn't get all over the carpet. Actually I used the spray lithium white grease with the tip to get down in there.

Thanks!

The white lithium helped quite a bit along with running the slides back and forth a number of times. Here is the mock-up from tonights efforts. Now I need to find a buddy with a welder...

I just put a set of these on and they were a pain. I pretty much packed the side bearings and undersides with WB grease. Then they wouldnt slide more than an inch and a half.I finally just took a hammer and tapped back and forth till I got the full slide distance and loosened them up.I think they just stick the stops in where ever. They really are nice though after you get them working right.

Doug; Are those seat frames repos of the original seat frames? If so how much $$ per one seat? What is the quality like?

Doug; Are those seat frames repos of the original seat frames? If so how much $$ per one seat? What is the quality like?Brad - They are Dynacorn repos. I haven't had my hands on an original set of buckets to compare against, but these look pretty good. They fold well, the springs were all clipped in. I mounted the repo seat back lock assemblies and everything lined up perfectly. I paid $287.96 for each bucket frame plus the tracks and conversion brackets which came to ~$403 per seat ready to mount. Not as cost effective as finding a donor pair, but I was tired of looking at junk seats knowing I would have to replace everything on them after I had them shipped.
