The lower section has to come out first,
you will have to push back/in on the lower section at the base to release the
two retaining braces, (if you get down low and look with a flashlight, you'll see them)
don't be afraid to shove !!!! And then it sould pop out !
Then you will see the two retaining bolts at the bottom of the seat back,
un-bolt and push up on the entire section,
Hope that helps

If your are wanting to remove the bottom first and it has a latch that is part of the body of the car under the seat you have to push the seat frame out of that then you can remove the bottom of the seat first.
I find it easier to sit in the seat and push it back wards to0 get it loose from the latch. There is 2 latches one on each side almost in the middle of of the floor pan well under the seat.

Removing the seat will not gain you access to the trunk, at least not enough to get into the trunk. if you said the keys were in the trunk and you needed to hook them with something, that's another story. There are a few large, triangular cutouts that you could reach something through. But I doubt you'll be able to gain access to the trunk lock that way. :noway:

You can always get a very long extension for your socket and unbolt the trunk lock latch it has 2 bolts I think they are 7/16.

Could you not go threw the top well liner (remove the strip that goes across the top of the back seat that holds the top boot in place and slide threw that way). Just working out of my head with out looking....

Does anyone know about how much weight you can drop from getting rid of the back seat?

I learned the hard way back in 1979 had to round up a bunch of extensions and back in those days no one had many of them:noway: had to go to all my friends and borrow all of what they had.
