Hey guys,
Yesterday I noticed a vibration in the front end of my 1999 Mercury Sable. It is a front wheel drive car which always ran smoothly up until yesterday. My first thought would be that the wheels need to be balanced or that the tire developed a bulge.

I don't know much about front wheel drive cars. Could this be something worse? What should I have checked.

I do 90% of all the work on my Elky, but try not to mess with these front wheel drive, computerized cars.

Thanks in advance,
Danny

My wife drives a 99 Sable and we received a recall notice from Ford for the front springs. It seems they fracture. Check the front springs, the safety recall # is 04S17 (Installation of front coli spring protective shields).

Or maybe the CV joint is going. How many miles on the vehicle?

I have around 68,000 miles on the car.

Time to get the CV joints inspected then. Do you notice any crunching or noise while going real slow with the wheel turned hard?

There is no crunching or clicking noise at all.
