I broke off my oil dip stick at the block. How do I get the rest of it out? can't seem to reach it.

you can make something to "hook" the rest of it out of the block? try to fit a slide hammer in there and try to get it out that way?

If this is a small block there are actually 2 tubes in the hole. There is a lower tube to keep the stick away from the rotating parts and then the upper tube goes in. I have had success in removing the broken piece by splitting one side of the tube with a small chisel then pulling it out with needle nose pliers. This is hard to do with the engine in the car.

Find a sheet metal screw that will screw into the broken off part and then pull it out with channel locks or something like that.
