Can anyone tell me how to tell if the dimmer switch is bad. I can get the high beams to work but not the low's. I just installed a new harness from M&H. I pulled plug going to dimmer witch. The middle socket is hot when I turn on the lights. If I jump the middle socket to the right socket the high beams come on. When I jump the middle socket to the left socket nothing happens. I pulled the plug on the low lamps (front of car)and I do not have any wire hot. I can push the dimmer switch and the high beam come on , I push the switch again and I have nothing.
Thanks Fred

Sounds like the circuit is open between the dimmer plug and the headlamp plug that you checked. The wire will have to be inspected to find the problem. There may be a splice somewhere that is bad. I believe it should go from the dimmer switch to the left headlamp and then to the right. Which one did you check? Did you call M&H to see if this has happened to anyone else? It may be that they can help you with locating the spot to fix if it was a quality control mishap.

It would be the left socket as you describe it in the original post. One is hot, one is high and one is low.
Where is Artesia? NM is not that far from here along I-10.

It is in the south east corner of the state. Between Roswell and world famous Carbad Caverns.
I jumped The center socket(HOT) to the left socket and nothing. Where do I go from here? I checked at the bulk head in the engine compartment and the tan wire gets hot only when the high beams are on. I was thinking that all three wires had to be hot for the lows to come on. I have not tried it yet. I am afraid I wiil short someting out.
