Good Morning. Great to have one More Day above Ground.
I've spent a few Hours on Searches. But I can't find any info on these two Wires. I'm guessing the Black/Pink is for the TCS, and The Orange is Maybe a Kick Down?? I traced the Black/Pink to the Engine Harness- a single Female connector, taped up, and the Orange goes to a boot with another black wire. (the Guy had knotted them around the Emergency Brake Cable, by the Tranny. I would just like to make sure I'm right or wrong.

Those are for the switch for the detent (kick down) solenoid on a TH 400. The black wire under the car with the orange is from the trans to the Transmission Controlled Spark relay on the firewall. The blk/pnk is fused ignition power.

It would have helped to know what year, but with TCS, gotta' be 70-72.

Do I need to have that Boot with the Black and Orange Wires plugged into the TH400? Or can I get rid of those wires? From what I've read, nobody keeps the TCS system.

You don't have to keep the TCS, if you don't want to for originality...

The orange wire is the down-shift solenoid for the TH400. Also known as passing gear by us OGs. The switch can be a pain to keep adjusted, and working correctly. Most drivers use the shifter if they need to force a down-shift.

Thanks Dave, I think I'll leave it for originality. But I'll dummy it, and make it look Pretty.
