I have a 69 396 350hp and I want to know if the bolt pattern is a diagonal or straight across from each other?I am having a problem finding the proper starter Old, fat, bald guy Oct 13th, 04, 10:36 PM should be diagonal for BBC starter w/ 168 tooth 14" flywheel / flexplate.... as far as a brace, it can't hurt to have one on the starter.
