i haven't even put the lemans on the truck yet, and i get an e-mail from the guy i purchased the car from, saying somebody wants to buy it.
i've heard this type of thing before, it's usually a guy trying to postpone buyers remorse, and having you back out of the deal. but a few minutes ago i recieved a call from indiana, nice gentleman who's first car was identical to this car, he wants to park it next to his low mile 72 chevelle (i told him about this site, so he might be here soon). i told him of course, everything is for sale at the right price, and i was sure at some point in time, this car would be also, but he's wanting to work something out now. i have only seen pics, my buddy who checked on it, said it was nice, although he drives a javelin, so i don't know if i can trust him to know what nice is ;).
i told the guy i didn't want to scare him off, or insult him, but to think it over, and make me an offer, that would hurt. after all i haven't even been able to drive the car yet, and i really didn't have a price in mind.
so... now i have to figure out how much it would take, to part with the car. do i want to spend another several weeks looking at turds to find a gem, or should i decline and just focus on the lemans? it took me about 30 cars to find this one, and i think i've seen everything local, so i would have to be as lucky on the internet, as i have been in the last few years. are the odds still with me, or do i end up with a p.o.s.?
i don't want to be a jerk and ask some outragous price, but i don't want to screw myself either....
