1967 chevelle > put my new kick panel speakers in last night. must have hit a wire or something under the dash. now when I press the brake pedal my left turn signal light in the dash and also the turn signal lights outside burn. any idea where to look for this short ? thanks, kevin

Does the turn signal also blink when brake pedal is pressed? Did you drill any holes or install long screws for the speakers? You may have hit the intermediate harness. I would look behind the drivers side speaker first. (the ones you just installed)

Do the turn signals AND the hazard warning lights work properly?

I can't tell you how many vehicles I've seen that light up one or both "turn signals" when the brakes are pressed; and it turns out that the hazard warning switch is active; but the hazard warning lights don't blink because of an un-related defect.

Repairing the hazard warning lights--and then turning them OFF--solves the problem.
