OK after reading a bunch on oil pumps I have decided to purchase a stock pump and leave the HV pump I have on the shelf.

But here comes my question:

Which pick up to use? I have a stock pan.
Melling 305s or Melling 77-s1

This will be a 454.

If it's a stock pan, then a GM pickup should work. You can try to match sump depth to an aftermarket pan and use that pickup too. Like mine, I had a moroso pan and pickup on mine, but switched to a Stef's pan. The sumps were the same depth and the pickup cleared everything in the pan so I used the old moroso one.
