65 chevelle non tilt, originally it was three on a tree. I am going to a th400. Its missing parts, column shifter handle and pin, and gear selector lens missing. If I do an aftermarket floor shift I will remove and fill the shifter handle up top. But what about the linkage that sticks out in the engine compartment? I can take a photo if it will help.

break the column down and remove the part with a cut-off wheel then weld up the hole on thw column cover itself...i did this to my 64 non-tilt column...I converted it to manual type column

sure. Thanks. Can i just remove the tube altogether? I could grind the pressed lever off and remove the slip collar and spring. Just dont want to destroy it....yet. If anyone else knows. please chime in.
What about the neutral safety switch? Do man trans columns have anything? I cant remember. plus my car was a ''race car'' and lots of things were removed.
What options for steering wheels are there? I would like the 3 spoke cushion wheel thats original for 69-70, or similar. I know theyre are adapters but dont know if one is needed or looks good.

like i said, i think that's what i did, but cant remember, i'll get it tore back down and take some pics for you either tomorrow or Fri....no neutral safety switch on the column for manual trans, just the clutch switch on the pedal assy
