I'm looking at purchasing one of the Retrosound head units for my Beaumont to provide tunes during summer cruising. The question is, will the 67' Chevelle radio fit into the 67' Beaumont?

I'm hoping someone knows off hand if this will work, but if not I can provide some pics and dimensions tomorrow.

Cheers.
:beers:

just put a new retrosound in my 67 ss. it fits good and works good. a bit pricey - ordered direct but includes steel knobs that look identical to the original except the inners. really like the usb port. 8gb flash drive will hold your whole cd collection. I give thumbs up.

I bought one for my 72 and thumps up .... I laid the USB port in my ashtray so it was easy to get at.

hi, hopefully they can give you some dimensions from retrosound... too bad they don't make one for a lemans or gto... to save a few bucks you could put a stereo in the glove box (and get one with a remote if you really want access). I did that in my beaumont, since i wanted to keep it looking stock inside, and not attract attention to the stereo. I removed my kick panel vents and put mids in there, 2-3 1/2" centre channels in the dash factory location, 2 mid-bases in the rear ledge and a 10" sub behind the rear seat. The rear ledge was covered in speaker cloth, as well as the kickpanel covers -everything was hidden, neat and tidy!

I think you'll want the GTO radio for your Beaumont. After all, that's what your dash is from. The chevelle dash is different.

good to hear.
The usb port is the clincher for me, as most of my music is on computer and memory stick. To have access to a usb port would make for a lot better cruising.

I bought one for my 72 and thumps up .... I laid the USB port in my ashtray so it was easy to get at.

Good placement of the usb.

Hidden, neat, and tidy is the way I like it.
The only problem I'm having with this, is the cutting of the rear deck lid. I don't want to, but it looks like the only way to get quality sound. Plus, I need a new package tray piece anyway, as the old one is toast.

This one should work

Nice, but not quite what I'm looking for as far as features go.

ak, 64-67 LeMans & GTO fit will be available March 4th--- Thanks!

Awesome!
I'll drop you a pm tomorrow if I get the chance, and see if I can get one of these on order.

You guys make great products.

I didnt cut my rear deck lid at all... the holes are all there from the factory. All i did was make a new package tray that was speaker cloth right across so that you couldnt see anything underneath, looks stock. I put the mids in the kick vent area and tweeters where the vent knobs were...nothing was cut at all... in fact it all took less than hour to remove and return to stock! i took it all out last summer, 9 speakers, incl. sub and amp and no mods required. i need a new head unit and will probably just go with rear 6x9s and no sub, just to get a little bit of tunes back in the car... if i was trying to be fancy, i'd make my radio delete plate on a hinge with a newer head unit behind it!!

Good to hear that something will come out for the GTO/Lemans!

I just ordered my RetrosoundUSA radio for the GTO/LeMans.
I'll update the thread when the unit arrives, and I get the chance to install it.
