Heres the situation. I'm taking a trip in my 71 Chevelle this upcoming weekend and I decided to check my wipers to make sure they worked. (possibility of rain this weekend) I believe that they were functioning properly the summer before, but actually have'nt driven in the rain since then. The problem thats occuring is that the motor is rotating fully, but the wipers only go a quarter of the way up and then quickly come back down again. Another problem that I noticed was that I keep getting a little bit of a continuous shock through my fingers when I turn the wiper switch on. Im wondering if this is at all related or maybe the switch is just on its way out. Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Hmm. If the motor is rotating and your blades aren't sweeping, you have some kind of linkage problem. Might try a lube job on the "transmission" linkages. If that fails, try loosening the linkage that clamps onto the "ball" of the wiper motor arm. With the motor in park, grab the wipers and put them into the park (down)position on the winsheid, where they should be. Tighten the linkages back up on the motor "ball" without moving the motor arm or the wipers. See if that helps. I'm not expert but I did notice on my 68 that the linkage setting was very critical and I had to try a few times to get it working.
