I have adjusted this 1 turn to get the sloppiness out of the steering I figured it would be woth a shot before I replaced the box..my question is how much can I adjust it..how many turns or until the steering wheel wont turn?..thanks for any help..

The number of turns needed will depend on how badly worn the worm gear is. The average is probably 2-2 1/2 turns.
Adjust the set screw in until you can feel a "hard spot" in the exact center of the steering wheel travel, then back off just enough so that you no longer have the hard spot.
The service manuals specify a torque setting for the set screw, but in my experience it doesn't work well on worn boxes.
