I know its not a Chevelle but it started tonight. How bad is this?? Sensor or computer module or ?? I'd like to get some kind of idea so the dealer doesn't do a wall job on me and charge an arm and a leg for a $5 sensor.

More info, part of decision is replacement of the van with new car. We had planned on doing it next year but this may move that decision up if repairs are too much (current book on the van is 3K) it has 85K miles 1994

My wife's 98 Caravan is doing the same thing. I noticed today while ideling in the garage that the ligh would go on and off repeatedly. I also noticed that since the light came on the cruise control doesn't work. I am going to be looking for a loose wiring harness connection.

Orrie, I think it best to get it scanned, doesn't have to be at the dealer.

Thanks for the replys, I found out that there was a recall for my year in 99 for the column wiring harness. Symptons are intermentent problems with cruise control and air bag light. If it short it can deploy the driver air bag. Tomorrow I go to the dealer to see if it was replaced in 99 during one of the 3K oil change checkup sessions or if it got past them. BTW I found that the 96-2000 models have the same problem, the harness is called a "clock spring" because of the shape. In those years it also affects the horn operation.

probably need to replace clockspring .... it provides power to steering wheel accessories ...
