Hi, I have a 65 El Camino with a tilt column. I notice that my brake lights dont work all the time properly. After using the signal lights, one or the other brake light doesnt work. When I wiggle the signal light handle on the column they come back on. Is this a common problem and what do I need to replace? Are new parts available?

I just fixed the same problem with my 70, I found that the turn signal switch wasn't making good connection with the metal contacts, when I moved the turn signal lever it mad contact and both brake lights came on, its a simple fix by replacing the turn signal switch located in the column, hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. With my tilt column the signal light switch is located outside the column at the bottom near the brake peddle and is activated with a rod from above. I will try adjusting it or replacing it.
