Hi Guys, youve always been a big help so Im puttign this in front of you. My 96 Suburban crank but has a really hard time starting at times it kills the battery. It has spark and Ive replaced the fuel filter. There are a couple steel lines that go into the intake right behind the throttle body, one looks to have a valve in it. Are these the fuel lines?? I wnated to do a fuel pressure check. Any other idea what this may be?

Thanks again
Chris

could you post a pic? Also is this a gas/LPG dual fuel vehicle?

Yes, those are the fuel lines. Have you tried spraying starting fluid into the throttle body?

Hi Guys, OK well this is what Ive done and it still won't start.

Fuel pressure check shows tons, maybe to much?? 40-50psi. Is this to much?

Have tried a new fuel pump relay.

New plugs, wires, rotor cap.

TPS tested OK.

When you spray ether or I prfer brake clean since it not as harmful it wants to start. I can get the truck to start after it cranks forever and hook teh battery charger up since it kills the battery. Then after a long time it wont start, had it runnign yesterday early afternoon, late evenign tried and it hard started, thsi mornign it just cranks.

HELP!?!?!?!

Forgot to ask about the EGR, will EGR problems do this? A friend suggested maybe that was it. I was getting EGR Pintle Pos Circuit codes way before this started. I replaced the EGR valve and tried cleaning the passages before it got to the point of not starting.

I don't think your fuel pressure is high enough. (I have a Silverado Z71) Unless you are getting fuel, I'm betting it's your fuel pump, or the fuel pulsator. They are know common failure points.

Order a GM part from GM Parts direct for 1/2 of what the dealer wants.

Get the pump, a fuel sock and the pulsator, and a new filter.

I have checked the fuel pressure with the key on without starting and it reads about 60 lbs. Also you can hear the pump work when you turn the key on although that doesnt assure the proper pressure. I have checked the crank sensor that seemed to be bad testing it on and off the truck, well that wasnt it either! I tried a new fuel pump relay that didnt make a difference either. What is the fuel sock and fuel pulsator? Do you know what the proper fuel pressure for this should be?
