Hi. I have a 71 chevelle with a 350 motor. I recently installed a radiator core support in it.I got everything put togather and then tried to start it.Wouldnt start. Getting gas but Iam getting no spark to spark plugs. I am getting currant to the H.E.I. ditributor, but nothing going to the spark plugs.Could this be the coil or module? Or did I do something wrong when I installed the core support. For example the horn relay or voltage regulator. The motor turns over but am getting no spark. Thanks in advance for any answers.

Typically with HEIs it's the module that goes out. Autozone around here checks modules for free. Be sure to use new dielectric grease when installing a module.

Did you put the rubber gasket in the cap OVER the spring? graemlins/thumbsup.gif

When you were replaceing the core support, did you disconnect the red wire that goes from the battery to juction block, and then runs across the front of the radiator to the horn relay???

If you did, did you reconnect it?

That is a sure-fire way to get no juice to the distributer. Don't ask me how I know  .

Run a wire direct from the battery to the BATT terminal on the HEI. Start. If it won't its the module or coil. If it does, check your connection for your +12V source for the wire you removed to do this. NOTE to kill it you will need to disconnect the temporary wire to Battery.

HEIs are famous for burning a hole in the dist rotor where the carbon conector from the cap hits. the spark then goes to ground via the shaft. Check under the rotor spring for signs of burn through. At about 2$ its cheap insurance anyway..
