I was thinking of going to the local junk yards soon to look for under hood light and trunk lights that come on automaticly when the hood or trunk is opened.
Anyone able to tell me what model of cars to look at?

I'll venture to say that just about any upscale and some not so upscale GM cars and trucks were equiped with this option(s). I can only speak for boneyards in my area but they are all picked clean like blood thirsty vultures. Your better off on Evilbay or Craigs list. My 71 454 was well equiped but missing all of its options and I was able to round up all of them including the tilt column with a little patience and diligence on Evilbay, craigslist and the want adds here on TC.

PS-You might want to get the GM part number and stroll on down to your local GM dealer, you'd be suprised what parts are lingering around at some of the larger dealerships. I actually found some long discontined bumper guard inserts and engine clips at a local Chevy dealer here in California
