Ihave just installed a new pump in my 66 chevelle.I also used power steering fluid to fill it,not auto trans fluid. I'mgetting a fluid leak at the bottom of the front of the steering unit.It looks like when I tighten the bottom retaining bolt it might be separating the pump and causing theleak.Should there be a washer between the mounting bracket and the face of the pump.
