Hello...I am restoring a 70 chevelle SS and am planning on using stock 14" rally rims with chrome trim rings with a stock suspension. It will be a driver, and I want to use the same size radial tire on all 4 corners - such as the radial T/A or something similar.

My questions is what is the largest 60 or 70 series tire I can use? I was thinking P245-60R14 or P255-60R14? Will these fit on all the corners without any interference? If I ran a 70 series, what is the largest? P245-70R14???

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks alot........

The biggest 14" in 60 series is 245/60-14 which is approx 25.5" tall.
The biggest 14" in 70 series is 225/70-14 which is approx 26.5" tall.

Personally I would go with the taller 225/70-14's.

Thanks for the input Dave.
What are your thoughts on using the 15" rims instead of 14's...are there more sizes available, and would the car look better? I see a lot of people using the larger rim...The only reason I was going with the 14's was because that is the original size that came with the car.

Thanks

You are correct there is a bit more choices going 15". You can go on Wheel Vintiques website and order the 70 style magnum wheel in 15".

I've got 2 sets of 14" Wheel Vintiques steel rallys but if I had to do it over again,I'd go 15's too.As has been mentioned, more tire availability in 15's.
