Looking for anyone running it in a 427 to 454.

I have ran the 40225 in a 454 and was very pleased but I am looking at putting this in a .030 427, 10.25 : 1 , 990 heads , victor Jr. intake, 850.

I just finished the same basic engine for myself with a 402A3 and its right one the money. Buddy of mine is wanting to use the 40224 instead.Thoughts?

can you elaborate on the goal he has in mind?

To smoke me , anyway he is looking for streetable, 3500 converter, 4:10 gear, 28" X 10.0 tire, occasional drag strip pass. Car is 3600 lbs. if I remember right.

I built a 454 .030 over several years ago for him and I used the 40225 cam in his engine. It ran sweet so he wanted to use that cam again. He is only running a 427 .030 now with same heads as me, 990's. I'm trying to get him to use the 402A3 like I did but he wants a little more so I told to buy the 40224.Its slightly smaller than the 40225.
