I was very impressed with the car. It was an automatic but the you can manually shift it. Pretty cool!
I'm waiting for the Classic R/T Challenger in B5 blue to come out and I'll have to get me one!

Here is more bad info on GM about the car delay. (http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2009/112_0904_chevrolet_camaro_z28_returns/index.html)

Yes, the Challenger R/T (370HP) is Nice,
But the SRT8 Challenger (425HP) is killer!
Take the word from a SRT8 Magnum owner.

I liked the fact that it has a musclecar feel with all the creature comforts of todays cars. The thing really cornered and accelerated very nicely also. The fact that I fit in it very well also(I'm 6'4", 285) was certainly a plus.

The only thing I didn't like is it didn't have climate control (don't think it's an option either) and the tilt steering mechanism seems cheaply made.

My son recently bought one and it is a very nice car. Just hope you don't have any back seat passengers that are large cause there is very little leg room.

I assume that was a V-6. I didn't think it sounded that bad.

I test drove one a while back an R/T. I really wasnt impressed for what was supposed to be a 300+hp car in truth while Iam not a ford fan the 09 mustang I test drove had a lot more pep plus I got it sideways in second no problem OH did I type that scratch that. any who one thing the mustang had on the challenger was it was a 5 speed and while I cant handle a hard clutch the stangs was like butter. I would like to try out a manual challenger but then also another dis like as mentioned above no passenger room I got kids 4 boys and while most times only 2 with us the mustang had more kiddy room in the backseat.

Thought maybe seeing the Camaro Pace Car at the 500 would show it to be much better looking then it is in the pictures we get, but it just looked like a taxi cab out there.

Man idk why you guys are all so anti-chevy. The camaro looks great in my opinion...atleast they didnt just regurgitate a 70's car. They made something that looks new. Plus its going to be faster than any of the challengers....with 426hp and a 300lb weight advantage. But yea the pacecar didnt look that great. Im just saying reserve your judgement till you see one in real life, i saw and sat in both cars at the Detroit show and must say that the camaro drew a crowd, had a line to get into, and no one was even standing around the challenger.

I never said I didnt like it. don't KNow yet havent seen or driven one in real life. only seen pics from what I seen it looks ok. Now that said would I buy one dont know I get a real sweet deal on the fords so it would have to be a real good deal to get me to buy one. I looked at the R/T cause they got emploee pricing. so we shall see when the camaro actually hits dealer ships around here.

That's probably because it might have been their only chance to ever see a Camaro. If you want to see a Challenger, you just need to go to your closest Mopar dealer. They'll even let you drive it. ;)

Challengers are just sitting on the lots. As are Mustangs, and most likely so will Camaros. Days of dealers getting "market adjustments" is over.

Of the three I prefer the Mustang.

I wanted the dark green 08 Bullitt addition one at the local dealer real bad. After it set there for about 8 months I think they have sold it.

No way I can afford a new car.

I doubt you will find stronger Chevy fans then us! You just admitted the pace car didn't look very good. I based comments on the pictures I've seen and the car pacing the 500, so far that is all I have to go on.

I would be happy with a re-gurgitated 1969 style if they could pull it off as good as Chrysler has with the Challenger.

Sorry some guys don't like my opinion, but I think it is probably the majority opinion and if someone knows how to do a poll, we can find out how this car stacks up to Chevy lovers.

Camaro = Fail

Sorry but much as I love GM and Camaros, I have to say that they failed miserbly on the new Camaro. I'll take the new Challenger though and I don't even like Mopar!!!!!

I guess everyone has their own opinion, i like the challenger too, but it being 4200lbs and when your next to it its very tall. the doors open are like 4 foot wide and so flat, i guess it just turned me off to it once i actually saw it in person. I thought the concept looked much better...it got fatter when it entered production. And the camaro in person just looked so much better than the pictures. They should be on the road by mid April so i guess everyone will just have to wait till then. As far as suspension/interior/and performance goes the camaro is far superior to the mustang and challenger. And in my opinion it looks much better.. but it seams based on looks alone its a fail to most people here.

I personally like the Challenger - I actually lust after it. When my Acura's lease is up (June 2009), this is near the top of my list for a replacement.

I have not driven one even though the local dealer keeps calling and asking me to. They offered me the new Employee Pricing Plus (EPP) + 1k cash back if I financed for 48 mos Chrysler credit at 0%. This was on a loaded R/T, which brought the price down to $32k or so. STILL not enough for me at this point considering it is the midrange model. I want an SRT8 or I do not want one. No EPP on these and no discounts at all - yet. Loaded they are in the $46k range. If they can get me one under $40k, I'm good. I'll look into a lightly used one, too.

The other option is slapping a Procharger on an R/T, but they haven't yet put those into production. Should be good for another 100hp. Now that's something I would consider.

I looked into a used GT500 - the Mustang is just too common. From 20+ feet away I have a hard time telling the V6 apart from the GT500. Challengers you just don't see all that much - and they're supposedly killing the Chally line in 2010.

Problem with the Camaro is the markups. I'm just not interested in paying over sticker for one of these things.

Most Chevy dealers are brain dead anyway.

The funny thing is I pass a Mopar dealer every now and then, I have a minimum of 6 different couples/families/people looking at the exact same one. Two of those times it was on a test drive.

The camaro may not have gone the full retro look, like dodge and ford. But they did put lots of interesting features, options, colors, Independent Rear Suspension, huge 4 wheel disc brakes, console and guages similar to the 69 camaro, and plenty of power to weight.

It will be faster than the dodge and ford.

Best of all, you can get all of that for $29,000.
Compare that price to the dodge's $42,000.

It's to bad for the Challenger. It"s coming out the same way that the Superbird and the Hemi Cuda did.Bad times,No money,Gas prices,Insurance prices, ect, ect. The Super Bird was built in 1970 only,1 year, and one Super Bird is on record that it did not sell untill 1976.The Cuda, the new E body in 1970,the same thing. The Cuda's big year was in 1971 and every thing went slaming down from there.30 year later those cars are big money and 40 years later most of those car are over a million.Or should I say SRT8 Challenger + 35 years =
