:noway::(:boring: TOTALLY AGREE < WHAT THE ADD SAYS >

Guess it depends on the category one is looking at and to whose and what standards. The ad doesn't differentiate between custom and restored nor promote one over the other. At least with a custom you can pick and choose what parts you want to customize/update/modernize/etc. and the quality is, as always, in the fit and finish; with a true restoration fit and finish should also be considered with correctness.

Nicest? In whose mind?
$279,000 - looks like fishing for a value. Certainly out of my league. 8000 man hours at (roughly) $100 per man hour is $800,000 in time alone. Not a very good ROA.

Gotta love ad copy though...165 other options, not counting A/C. I'd be surprised if there were only 165 other options/changes from stock.

There's an ass for every seat. I could not imagine paying that kind of money for anything other than a factory supercar or some other original rare optioned car. 165 options?? Is he counting stuff like air in the tires or what?

No, Kevin... I would never be so cocky as to make that statement... :noway:

I just thought it was amusing to read the statement and then, so little in the decsription.. but afterall, he personally checked it out and it's A plus!

I just can;t imagine a car taking 40 hours a week for 1 year with 4 guys working on it to get it done. That is what 8000 hours equates to. Would seem there was a lot of fooling around or beer drinking taking place instead of work. Chip Foose has what 20 guys working 10 hours a day and gets it done in 7 days. That is only 1400 hours!

Hard to gauge a car like that with the pics provided. If it is a show car (as in indoor SEMA, roadster, rod and custom, world wheels venue) it really is hard to put a realistic value on it. I'd sure like to see it in person because there are usually some pretty cool suttle mods on these type of cars that get lost in the pics. As regular car guy I couldn't own something like that, but don't begrudge the folks who can because typically they help our hobby survive more so than the piddly amount of $$ I spend on my cars in comparison. Yeah sure their sales comments may be over the top but look, it got the attention of folks and got folks talking about the car. Isn't that what you would want?

I think this car has been pitched for sale for years at 6 figures. You would think a guy would get the picture by now that that price is just not realistic.

Very well stated, Jeff. I wouldn't mind getting the chance to study it for a while.
I could never afford it, but then it's just like a hot chic in a movie...it's fun to look! :D
