What is it worth. It's a 1968 Chevelle Convertible with a numbers matching 327 engine. The panels are pretty solid. The car was originally red, but was painted white about 8 to 10 years ago. The interior is original and not torn. The engine and trans runs out well. It does have an SS hood, which I would replace. Owner states, floor pans, trunk pans, fender and quarters are good. The right quarter has bondo from a bad repair, but it is all metal. The paint for 8 to 10 year may have help preseved it. The car appears to be well optioned with power brakes, power windows, power locks, tilt sterring, power top and AC. What do you think it worth?

hey tal,why dont you buy that rust free low mile red 68 ss 396 convertible for 30k or best offer thats been listed many times on ebay. all it needs is an engine detailing and some tires and wheels.that is the most original together 68 ss rag out there for sale that doesnt need and never had skin work.you may find one cheaper but it will cost more money and time to fix up. go offer him 25k and buy it.

It has been listed so long. I don't think he really want to sell the car. You are correct. If it done not need body work, it would be well worth it. The market is really soft. The Black SS 396 has also be listed serveral times with no sale. The last time it only bid up to 18K and change. I almost paid 19K for one the needed a lot of work, but it was number matching. I think I will just watch for a while.

Why would you replace the SS396 hood? They look great even on the small block cars. Got any good pics of the car? They go a long way to help place value. Back to the hood: I have never had anyone ever talk down a car that had the twin dome hood while not being an SS396. It will be an interesting spring to see where values go. Not sure there will bbe the spring time bounce we typically see for prices.

IMO the blue car is priced about 10k too high for what it is. There have been a couple same caliber clones in the free classifieds in the past year for $20k and I don't think they ever sold. They were listed for a long time.

everyone knows pricewise you cant compare a fake clone to a real deal numbers matching ss convertible regardless of its condition

If you were referring to my 2nd comment, the blue car is also a clone. You will also find they are all comparable. Well done put together cars have sold for more than numbers cars.
