When I plug my wiper motor in, it won't shut off. The switch has three positions, first and second position have the slow crank, and 3rd has the fast. I'm guessing the first position is to shut the thing off, but it won't happen. I think its faulty wiring or faulty motor. Any input?

Check your ground.

Wes, I beleive the wiper switch acts as the ground. When the switch is on it grounds out the motor and it runs. When you turn off the switch it breaks the ground.

If the wires running from the wiper motor to the wiper switch had a short, the wipers would stay on all the time, because the motor would always be grounded regardless of the position of the wiper switch.
