Heres the scoop. Ran out to the track and first pass I ran a 8.90 At 80 mph (8th mile). Second run and the 2 after that it started stalling and running like crap only after heating up my tires. As soon as I got out of the throttle it would die. Crank it up and it ran like crap till I got the rev's back up. Then off the line it would just run like crap. Get to the pits it would run fine like nothing ever happened. On my way home it ran great and when I hit a deserted stretch I ran it through the gears and it ran great. I did not do a burn out but I stopped, loaded up the suspension and launched fine. No probs. Any ideas? Could my weights in my dist be hanging up or could it be the carb? I'm running a holly 650, and a mallory ign, with a msd coil. Thanks in advance, Chris

Sounds like you may have fuel slosh out of bowl vents. Put a hose on the front bowl vent and the other end on the rear bowl vent. Cut a notch in the highest part of the hose loop to vent the bowls. If this is your problem it will keep fuel from sloshing over onto carb throat killing engine.

Thanks. I had freind that said that might be the prob so I did that and I will see if that works. Somebody at the track said it might also be my dist weights sticking open but all seems good in there. Oh well, I guess i will try it sunday and see what happens,Thanks, Chris

I had a similar problem that turned out to be the fuel lines in the rear were slightly cracked so the fuel system was sucking air so the fuel bowls would get low or empty.
