That's a tragic accident . My prayers go out to all the families involved. I live near a small airport and there have been 2 crashes near here in the past. 1 almost hit a boy on his swing set. That crashed happened in 1975 I believe. The family still lives there. Only the two people on the plane were killed.

Very sad. No survivors and the father of the family of three was also killed. The wife and baby got out with minor injuries. I don't know anyone that was involved with the accident, but it happened in my town, just a few miles from my house. They are having a hard time figuring out what happened b/c there was no communication with the tower that would indicate that there were any problems. Witnesses say there were three separate explosions, two smaller ones and one big one. Another witness said he heard the engines winding down just before the crash. such a tragic event.

I just found out the man who died in the house used to work with my father. I used to see him and his family in church often. A very sad day.

Damn.

Whats worse is there will be another within a month or two. Always in 3's and then years and years with no crashes. Ride the train for now.

Terrible. :sad::(

Very tragic! :sad:
Having grown up in that area, I know the region very well and have flown into the Buffalo airport hundreds of times.
In fact, we have good friends that my wife went to HS with that live less than a mile farther down Long Rd.
Prayers for the victims & families.

I too feel awfull about this crash - I grew up in Kenmore, another suburb of Buffalo and dated a girl in Clarence Center. I know that area well. So sad!

Geez, the air traffic control tapes have already been released. The version that I listened to said it was edited. They were cleared to 2300 ft., then nothing except visuals from the next planes in line. Very sad indeed. Daren

The plant where my dad works shut down for the day. One of their safety engineers was on the plane. They are offering grief counseling. As I mentioned before the man that was in the house also used to work there.

I grew up near there as well (Amherst). Its hard to hear about tragedy anywhere, but when you know the area it takes on a different twist. So sad that no one had a chance...after the Hudson River crash, you get some hope that there's some possibility when an aircraft goes down, but not this time.

Just sad...

F.O. never mentioned "ICE Speeds set" on the tape, causing me to believe that sense she had been, A. new B. used to flying in the south C. First trip of the day. She set non icing speeds. which are 15Kts slower than ICE Speeds. The Captain never double checked the speeds, was at while Idle slowing to what he thought was ref only to have the planes wings stall 5kts before getting to the speed that he thought he should be at based on the wrong speeds being put in. I read the whole transcript and can't find anything else wrong. After years as a F.O. and Captain in the regional and major airline biz there conversation was tame. A little long winded in the approach phase but still not out of the norm for an experienced crew.
