Are the 68 clutch pedals a "one year only" item? What makes them unique if they are? What do I need to look for when purchasing some on ebay?
Thanks
CC

so is there no one that knows if the 68 is year specific?

Looks to me like the difference might be in the bottom of the clutch pedal, how it many turns it takes.

There would be no reason for them to be different. I have a set off a 69-72
With the small disc brake pedal with metal disc brake emblem. I cant see any difference?
But they would have a smaller column I think due to the ignition being in dash???

Bottom picture looks like a Pontiac part. The bezels around the pedal pads are indicative of this.

I wound up buying the aftermarket pedals that say 68-72 right on the box. The pedals that were in it worked but were not correct and the push rod through the firewall was at a goofy angle and would not fit right with the boot.

If I recall the '68 pedals do not have the provision for the starter safety switch.

I'll give my 2 cents, for what it's worth...
The first picture in the above post is a 68 pedal. Second picture is 69-72. Either pedal will work in a 68, but maybe not the other way around. The big difference is the way the bracket for the clutch rod is fabbed/bent, as well as where it is welded to the pedal. Either one puts the pedal end of the push rod in virtually the same geometry with the bell crank, but the 69-72 iteration allows for function of the safety start switch. There are other very subtle differences, but this is the biggie. Bottom line... any 68-72 will work in a 68. A 68 will only work in any 69-72 with some modifications for the safety switch.
I believe this info applies to pedals from other GM A-bodies as well.
