I took my son to see them in Greenville, SC last night. His grandmother bought him the tickets for his birthday. Not my style of music but it was much better than I thought it would be. Trivium (another of my son's favorites) opened followed by Coheed and Cambria, who I really liked.
Slipknot played for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Pretty good show for me, night of his life for my son. We spent the night and came back today. So my son really made out with 2 days out of school and a lifetime of memories!

Sounds like your son is a metal head like me, nice to see young people that arn't into rap and hip hop.

What did you think of Slipknots masks that they ware? pretty freaky huh, they where those on tv and in public too.

I know that my dad wouldnt go to a Slipknot concert with me LOL he thinks bands like that arn't talented and just make noise.

kudos to you for taking your son to a concert he will remember the rest of his life.

"Duality" always reminds me of Henry Rollins and the Rollins band.

One of my favorite bands. Seen the exact same show you saw about a month ago. They opened this tour here in Minnesota last month.

I knew what to expect with the masks since my son is really into this band. He is a true metal head who plays guitar, a habit that may be more expensive than chevelles! His taste in music is wide ranging but he cannot stand rap. We have seen Dickey Betts, Marshall Tucker and a few other acts together but this was his first metal concert. We had great seats, 4th row off the floor just to the left of the stage.

I didn't know they were from Iowa until the singer was talking to the crowd about where they came from and how much it was like Greenville. Of course he probably said that about Charlotte and anywhere else they played :)

I'm a big fan of their first album. I'm not as much into their newer stuff but I won't turn it off or anything. Sounds like yous had a good time! I'd like to see them live someday.

I managed to get some meet and greet tickets to see 5FDP here in buffalo. Nice bunch of guys. Zoltan was MIA for the meet and greet though. They played with In This Moment (Maria Brink (http://images.google.com/images?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=maria+brink&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei=DpSVSdrUC9e4twejjoSfCw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title)!!! oh yeah!), Bury Your Dead, and Another Black Day. Amazing show!

I saw them in a little bar before they got big on New Years eve in
Des Moines many years ago.
Goths, bikers, mosh pit, leather etc... I could not believe my eyes
Could not wait to leave!...IMO nowhere for a kid
How some of these bands can influance our youngsters is crazy...
I guess thats America these days (CRAZY)

Also, I was told at a local car show one of the band members showed up and liked a car and shelled out some big bucks and the owner sold it on the spot. I believe it was an early Camaro.

Kevin, those concerts are a "trip" aren't they? My son wanted me to go to a local club here that had a heavy metal night. The bands were loud as hell and I couldn't understand a word they said. But the kids LOVED it and the Mosh Pit was hilarious.

Wally, my son had his pick if ticket locations and decided NOT to be on the floor. It was a good call as the moshing, while not the worst I've seen, was pretty heavy. My son loves the music but also understands it is entertainment. In all it was a 4 hour concert so I think he got his money's worth :)
I did tell him he was going to find somewhere closer next time.

I'm not a big Slipknot fan, but I like some of there songs. A DJ here in KC had the lead singer call in, I think he said he's from Iowa. He sounds like a real nice down to earth guy that still cares about the fans.

I dig this band also. I didn't see them when they came through here, but I like their music.

I find it hard to maintain the speed limit when they're on the radio. That means its a good band to me!

Got to see them play in Des Moines, Iowa before they big, and a few times since then.
One of the few bands who can play a great live show. Also a huge fan of 5 finger death punch, looking forward to when they come around KC.

I had 6 suite tickets for when they are in Phoenix on March 5th at Jobbing.com Arena...I gave them to a kid who lives on our street. It's not my style of music...but I'm sure that he'll have a blast. Free food and drinks...and a chance to meet and greet the band!
