What engine? How hot is it running? Your question is too general to answer properly.

I changed many things at once on my ex-66 and one of them included adding an electrical fan.

This almost ruined my car! (definetely under-cooling the engine) I went to the junkyard looking for a mechanical replacement and found an after-market (I think it was a FlexCool?) that cured my overheating problems immediately.

And yes, if the car is a daily driver, I'd recommend a thermostat.

This is considering you have verified: proper water flow; clean radiator; correct radiator cap;

Did you add a new intake? I had problems matching water passages between new intakes and heads...

Good luck!

My 396 was running 210 degrees with a 195 degree thermostat and stock 4-blade fan. First of all, I blew out the radiator and flushed the system. Next, I removed the stock fan and replaced it with a Flex-i-Lite (O.E.M. look) stainless fan w/ a 2-inch Flex-i-Lite spacer that put the fan closer to the radiator. Lastly, I put in a 180 degree thermostat. Now the car runs at 180-185 degrees with a lot more power! You can do the whole thing for less than $75.
