I don't have a similar setup but it might be helpful if you could include so more info such as what it is exactly doing. Have you pulled the plugs? What do they look like? Does it bog or backfire? Is the timing set correctly? What has changed since it last ran well or did it ever? Big block, small block? I already know it's sexy it just needs to be fast right? :D Just trying to help. well it is a sb 350, it dosent back fire, it kinda bogs down for a second then speeds up, but only when you mash the gas. if you accelerate kinda fast, not floorin it it will be just fine. every thing i mentioned is what has been done to it since it last ran. its just the initial punch that it dosent like.the plugs arnt that bad a lil black but not crusty, my buddy said that it could be running a lil rich, i used to be big on imports so all this is foreign to me, alot easier in most parts but this i am clueless in. if you need ne more info just ask, ill check this site periodically today im puttin my headers on today and hookin up the rest of my exhaust so when i get that done i wanna be able to tune it correctly!

thanks again,
Kevin

dude I have a 327 fast idle cam and 202 valves ,roller rockers hypertec coated flattops, weiand team G high rise intake, and the same carb you have edelbrock 600 my does the same exact thing it drives nice smooth no backfiring it is just when I put it to the floor it bogs or somthing and then wants to go. I am not sure what I need to do, any help would be great. or I could just swap to holley or g-jet, but this is a brand new carb I think I need to do the swap but if someone no's if I should jet up or down with this carb that would be cheaper fix.

my 327 had an edlebrock performer 750....did the whole bog thing, adjusted mixtures, timing was right. Maybe check the secondaries. if they are mechanical, maybe sending too much fuel in.....i ended up getting a 650 Speed demon...no probs and i love it.

Hey guys I think that I may have the solution for all of ya. I had the same problem a year ago, and I checked out this site and one of the members said for me to check out the float levels. That fixed the problem instantly. If you don't know how to adjust the floats I suggest checking out the Edelbrock site at

http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/index.html

and look at the tuning procedures in section 2 for a pretty detailed decription on how to do that. Anyways hope that helps!

Good Luck

i was kinda thinkin that with all the performance things ive done to my car and havein the stock exhaust is why it was boggin down, because i had started it up open header (way cool!!!) and it seemed to run alot better than with that crappy old restricting exahust on there. i havent been able to start my baby up with the new exahust on yet cuz i need shorty header plugs and a 90 spark plug boot kit, and i have to wait till this friday graemlins/angry.gif but oh well, cant wait till friday! graemlins/beers.gif ill be findin out here soon

Maybe i'm a little late to help, but i've had a 670 holley street avenger and now got the 870 hta. the book on the carb says if you mash the gas and feel a lag when the secondaries kick in then you are getting too much gas and need to jet the secondaries down. you shouldn't really feel the secondaries kick in. it should be smooth. Hope this helps.
