So he said he's not going to bring it to you? Maybe if you wired him a deposit....

i told him i'd give him $200 for gas and have the whole 9,500.00 waiting in $100 bills. he told me his time was worth more than that. i can't remember the last time i had a 9,700.00 day.

Wow that car is exactly like the one I bought in 1966, color and all except mine was a manual trans. I paid $275 for it from a Chevy dealer. It had about 70k miles on it but had a little rust in the usual spots.

Can't you go after work or something? We are only talking 4 hours total. Better hurry or it will be gone. Looks like a nice car. Heck I have driven all night for a car and got back in the morning & went to work if I wanted it bad enough.

thanks guys, he's heading for a funeral up north tonight, won't be home for 4 days, and that drive after 4:00 (when i get off work) turns into a 6-7 hour turn around, and i'd still have to drag somebody down there to get it back... i think there is something else coming my way, and i just have to be patient. you s.d. guys might want to look, it had a crate 350 in it, he says paint is tired, and it need interior, but it's rust free.....

Like I said Bill, your probably better off. You can only tell so much from 4 exterior pictures and the owner probably knows he's a little high on the price to make that kind of a trip. Something better will come along!

Dont know your situation with work............If it was me, up at 4am to beat the traffic, there at 6am w/ trailer. Breakfast at 8:00 home by 11:00 w/ a real nice ride. Still time to go in for a 1/2 day if you want. However I would skip the afternoon work and stay home and stare at it for a while.

Seriously, you ought to have one of these guys scope it out and at least snap a few more pictures for you if it is worth it. This might be the deal you've been waiting for.

I take it the trade deal on that old mopar didn't work out?

Sounds like a stand off. He would have to get a friend follow him up to your place, which is probably as big a pain as you going after it. I wouldn't do that trip, going from his house, with that car, thru LA and back to his house for $200. But I would, as a buyer drive from Phoenix, with a trailer to go pick it up.
I'm glad your not interested, and I thank you for the info on the post.

From the few photos I'd say it looks interesting. 265 V8 car too!

Back in 1975 a family friend sold his 1947 Chevy sedan delivery project in a hurry to buy a 1-owner 1955 Chevy 210 Handyman 2-door wagon from the original owner. Original paint, 235, 3-speed. He has restored the car and still has it today. He sold the 235 and has run a variety of small blocks under the hood. The car looks stock right down to the wide whites but last time I saw it he was running a 327 with triple 2 barrel Stromberg 97s under chrome army helmet air cleaners, plus the finned Edelbrock script valve covers

the 63 sold out right, and is being loaded today into a container heading for sweden...

i'm going to try to see this on saturday a.m. http://ventura.craigslist.org/ctd/1025209701.html

one of the reasons i didn't jet down to s.d. yeserday was, we're on baby watch, my daughter is supposed to have a baby boy any second now, if i was in transit last night, i'd have to have turned around and get the wife, then turn around and go back to hemet. of course it didn't happen last night, but i'm trying to stay close to home, so i can get the wife to her daughter a.s.a.p. when things go down. from my house, hemet is about 2 plus hours.

Im sure he is hesitant to bring it up because of all the other flakes that waist peoples time on Craigslist. With the scammers and tire kickers and dreamers. Because of that, it can ruin the deals for those that are actually stand up buyers.
