Has anyone changed the crank seal on a 70/ 396 chevelle with out removing the engine. I going to change the clutch also, and was hoping I could get the oil pan out by raising the motor a bit & sliding the pan foward as i will have the fly wheal out anyway. Thanks any ideas would be helpfull.

Yeah, it'll come out with the flywheel removed. You may have to lift it just a tad. The rear main seal can easily be replaced. Just make sure you use the shoehorn supplied with the seal. It's easy to rip the lip without it. Good Luck
