I know this is a F**D question but, I haven't found a fix on their forum yet.
I have a 67 pickup, 240 ci six. It starts right up when cold but when I drive it for a few miles and try to restart the engine, it turns over really, really slowwwwwww. Then all of a sudden it will turn over normally. I have changed the starter, solenoid and wires from solenoid to the starter. Being winter and its cold outside, I would think of heat soak to the starter could be ruled out. Normally I can let the truck sit for 15-20 minutes and I can start it right up.
It started to do this shortly after I changed the points to the pertronix type. Could this have anything to do with it?
Thanks,
Mike
PS I do have a 69 Chevelle
