I have a '77 Quadrajet. There is a spot for a solenoid (idle-stop?) on the casting (two drill holes) on the drives side of the carb, but there wasn't the solenoid actually on it. Am I going to run into terrible problems without this solenoid? Or isn't this just the solenoid that kicks up your idle when the A/C is on? Otherwise there are no electronics on the carb, so just want to check.

On the mid-70s it's just sort of an A/C device. If the idle is set up you shouldn't see a problem.

Whew, good news! graemlins/thumbsup.gif I was hoping I wouldn't have to mess with finding one. I guess being young I just want this 4-barrell on my car ASAP, and want more power on my car as quickly as I can get it. Actually, being around this site has made me realize the need for speed doesn't go away with age.. :D
