First time post. Great site for information Some time back I purchased a 67 ss that had been completely tore down about 15 years ago.
I am not sure that all of the parts are 67 chevelle as i have run into some problems so far. I have been in the process of restoring & assembling since then & have the frame, rear end, engine etc done. Over the Christmas break I tried hooking up the steering linkage. It is all hooked up but the pitman arm (power steering) to the cross link. The arm on the idler is 5 inches long & the pitman arm is 6 inches long. The pitman arm seems to be pushing the cross link back too far & it rubs hard on the center part of the frame. I have a second 67 with manual steering & both arms measure 5 inches. Acording to the catalogs, the pitman arm is different between manual & power steering. Does anyone know what the difference is??
How do I determine what i have for a steering box? Thanks for any info
