I'm taking my tall spindle disc brake set up to a swap meet this week end. They are in "take off" condition. Spindles are good, but with typical frame rust. Dust shields are "okay". Calipers are core value only. Rotors are rusty but can be turned. Spindle nut, washer, banjo bolts and calipers sliders are present, caliper screws are not. No hoses.

I have nothing in them. Where should I start, $150?

that might be top dollar

edit: although now that I think about it, if those are good old spindles, they will be worth more than the Chinese junk ou see on Ebay

Andy, they are take offs, not repops...good old US iron, 30-some years old.

Anyway, I'd let them go for less. If $150 is top dollar, maybe I'll put $100 on them. I wouldn't want $150 to scare a guy off because he'd think I'd be insulted if he wanted to offer less.

I don't see many guys scared away from offering a low price on an item for sale at a swapmeet. I'd start at 150. If they want to talk you down they will.

Are they B-body? or F-Body?

12" rotors? They came in both 11" and 12" versions... IIRC, B-body had both, and F-body only had the 11" brakes...

Naturally, the 12" versions are worth more...

If they are the B-body, then the rotors are worthless for a Chevelle/Camaro (different lug spacing)...

IMO, to maximize the value, "clean" them... wire brush and degreaser, and a quick coat of paint (cast iron or black)... And personally, I'd also show off the spindle pin if its in nice shape (by leaving the rotors off)... marketing: if people see something nice and clean and good shape, alot more likely to buy, thinking its a good deal... If its just used grungy old stuff, then people aren't going to pay top dollar...

X Body - 75 Nova. They are grease free, but not painted. Rotors are off to show condition of spindle.

I'll start at $150 and let them work me down.
