Hi all,
I removed the AC condensor under the front passenger fender and boy was that thing huge!!! But now I have a huge hole to go with it. I can see the road from the inside as I'm driving. I don't think anyone sells a cover for the firewall right? Am I gonna hafta fabricate and weld in a cover? Also that hole in the kickpanel looks like it might take in water from the cowl and the antenna hole. Has anyone done any kind of sealing or maybe a drain hole for this area. I had wanted to put the computer for the fuel injection in the empty space there but it looks like it might get wet. What have you guys done? TIA.

You can fabricate a cover for the hole. It is just a flat piece of metal with one bend in it.
I would add strip sealer and use screws to attache it, not weld it.

In a non-air car there is an air vent control flapper installed in the kick panel. The hole in a non-air car is oval and the flapper assembly fits in and deflects water.

Not trying to nit-pick, but the section you are talking about is the evaporator section. The condenser is the part in front of the radiator.

Thanks for the replies. I always get the terms confused on the AC stuff. <g> Looks like I can make something myself. Thanks for the suggestions. The wind gets mighty cold blowing thru there. <g>
