Back in the mid 1980s when I was working in an automotive machine shop we had a customer with a mid 60s Mercedes. He claimed it had over 1,000,000 miles on it (one engine rebuild). He was a traveling salesman and drove something like an average of 300 miles a day, 5 or 6 days a week. It sounded too incredible to believe so I whipped out the calculator and ran the numbers. He could have done it, but.....1,000,000 miles???

A couple of months ago Paul Harvey did a story on a guy who lived in the pacific northwest who delivers fish every day in his '91 Silverado. He bought the truck new and it had just turned over 1,000,000 miles on the original engine.

I wonder what the financing would be at say 7% APR?
