We got to meet Dave Birdwell, Chris White, Dave from PSL and Jody stopped by as well. There were a lot of very nice cars at the show, a good mix of everything Bowtie!! PS, TC was well represented!!!

Dave Birdwell Feb 8th, 09, 8:59 PM That retro 69 Camaro convertible was SWEET! That took a LOT of engineering to make that work...and it was black to boot! Straight as an arrow...

Rmchevelle Feb 9th, 09, 12:20 PM Thanks for the pics! What's the story on that black Camaro? Is it a custom? If so, kudos to the customizer!!! ...or is it one of those new bodies that's being manufactured?

the answer to your question: yes, Duane Landis from Coshocton, Ohio.

VIN tag showed it was a 95, IIRC. Lots of body mods to make everything work, but it is SWEET. Only thing I'd have done, was put a set of the repro black/white houndstooth interior in it.

I spoke with the owner/builder outside the Hotel Sunday morning. He actually hand built built 2 of these cars. This is the first one that's currently for sale. It's very well done that's for sure. I believe someone over on the Yenko site knows the black Z/16 car as well and it's car #15.

1badss396 Feb 9th, 09, 5:32 PM Since Dave Birdwell farted in my car he kinda looks like this now.:D

ls6ragtop Feb 11th, 09, 8:39 PM Just got back from Fl. today, as Jody mentioned, weather was perfect on Fri. and Sat. I had a great time here and enjoyed meeting all who stopped by to introduce themselves, and am looking forward to Lakeland in a few weeks so we can do it all over again. The original owner of the LS6 convert flew over from La. to check out his old car and spent all day with us telling old war stories he had with the car when he raced it and brought out some old timeslips he kept from then as well as the license plate he ran on the car from Southland Dragway. Just a really cool guy.
Chris
