350-new rebuild-9.5/1 comp-Edelbrock rpm heads, manifold, mild cam. Edelbrock q-jet-crane energizer roller rockers. One valve in the middle of head has valve lash. Have checked pushrod clearance, swapped lifters, switched to stamped rockers, taken heads apart, & can't find cause. The only thing I haven't checked is the cam, but the lifters looked OK when I swapped them. It's only one rocker that has the problem. I adjust it properly and then when running the valve lash dvelops again. Not so much when accelerating, but more when just cruising. It's eventually gonna beat the rocker to pieces. stumped. Tommy

It was the cam the did it for me just recently. One lobe worn down to nothing!!! I'd suggest testing the lift with a dial indicator, or a mic set. If those aren't availalbe, just pull the cam and visually inspect it for lobe wear. Another no-brainer, do your rocker studs and the bolts still have good threading? Food for thought.

Check the heighth of the rocker stud. They will sometimes pull out of the cylinder head creating the problem you describe. If this is so, you can replace the stud with a threaded stud or drill and pin the existing stud.

Are the studs factory? If so the top might not be flat enough for the set screw to hold. This would allow the set screw to loosen up and the polylock to back off.
