I know this is a chevelle site but I'm running out of ideas on how to fix this problem. The next step is taking it to the dealer $$$$. The problem I'm having is that my wifes 2000 GMC Safaris electric door locks stopped working. You can lock them manualy but will not lock and unlock with the remote or by the switch. You can here the solinoid in the door clicking but the lever doesn't engauge. Is there a relay under the dash that operates the door lock system. If anyone knows of another web site I can go to for this problem or can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Probably a bad lock motor, these things are notorious for going out, probably from cheap offshore suppliers. The actuator will still make noise but not throw the lever.

If it's not the motor its brob the actuator. Most of them are made out of plastic & break pretty oftin. You almost always have to buy the whole assembly... graemlins/thumbsup.gif
