I have a '69 chevelle with a 350 motor, and while I was driving down the road today the car started to stall out while I was at about 50 MPH. To get the car home I had to pump the gas and the engine would start to cut out then would rev up and go and I kept doing until I made it home. I didn't hear anything unusual. Theres a 650 holley ,MSD 6Al,MSD problaster 2, and MSD distributor. It was like running out of gas in a fuel injected car,if thats happened to anyone else. I checked the carb when I got home and it seemed to be putting gas in. I really could use some input to what the problem could be.

First, check the oil and see if its above full or smells like gas. If so, replace the fuel pump and change oil and filter. If oil is OK, change the fuel filter. Probably one or the other.

Sounds like a bad fuel filter or bad pump. The more the load, the more gas you need...it sounds like its starving for gas. When you pump the gas to get it to go, I'm assuming it's in neutral. Put it back in gear or introduce a load it leans right out...the pump is not able to keep up with the demand. Mark

It was the fuel pump. I put a new one on and did an oil and filter change and eveything is fine. Thanks for the help.
