I have attached 3 photos of my 69 chevelle where a "bookcase" fell against it causing 3 dents on the passenger side. I dent is above the door handle and 2 are on the rear quarter panel. All 3 are nicely placed on the body crease that runs along the door and into the rear quarter. I have quotes running from $1200.00 to repair just the dents and paint the immediate area to $3400.00 to repair the dents and blend the paint into the car which calls for painting almost the entire side of the car. My questions are, which option would you select and do think the prices are fair.

Is the paint actually chipped or still intact? Is there one of those "paintless dent repair" places in your area such as "Dent Pro" or the like? You might try one of those guys first. I've read on here that they're pretty reasonable.

The dentless places do a pretty good job but I think that dent on the crease at the top of door will have to be fixed the old fashion way. You can ask and see but I think you just need a good paint and body man.

If it were my car I would have the dent guy look it first.I'm in the business and I've seen these guys work miracles. Really you have nothing to loose. The ones I deal with don't charge if they can't fix it or screw it up.

Thanks for the replies! I have taken the car to 2 "fix-a-dent" shops and both said that due to the dents being on a crease line and the heavier gauge of the sheetmetal, they doubted they could make the repair. I am leaning toward the repair and blend quotes.

On your door I think that is where you have a boxed frame area. I would ask how they plan on doing the repair such as using a stud gun to work the dent. Look at some completed work at the shops and see if it meets your standers. Best of luck on your repairs.
