I have a strange sputter-miss after I start my edelbrock 1406 when 30*-40* cold. It idles at 1500rpm right away, but then it starts to fall and runs rough at 800-900rpm. I have no smoke on startup, and have recently reset my elec choke and fast idle to edelbrock spec's with out results. After 30 seconds the engine runs fine. The plugs get covered in fuel if i check them right after. Have no problems in the summer.

Floats?
Choke?
Ignition?

The choke is getting power.

the choke plate may be need to be closed up a little. The chock thermostat setting is one adjustment and the vacuume break (choke plate opening) is the other. usually the choke plate opening is adjusted by bending the linkage slightly( a couple thousands). O simply try adjustin the choke stat setting one notch richer.
