Would a restrictive fuel filter cause poor idle in gear? I have that see through glass filter. The mesh screen is kind of collapsed on itself. And on a sort of related question is there someone SLC, alpine, Utah area that could help me set my timing once and for all. I'm sure I'm not gettin it right.

If the mesh is collapsed then there is or has been a restriction at some time,I would replace it but not with glass, a bump in the road or slight wreck could break the glass and there goes all your hard work up in flames.
