OK, this is going to be strange one...I'm helping a friend with '67 F85. The transmission is a "Super Turbine 300 Jetaway. Does anyone know if the manual shaft seal for this transmission is the same as the seal on a TH350/400? For what it may be worth, the GM part number for the TH350/400 seal is 8623056.

Yes. Most of the GM linkage seals work in other transmissions PG 300 350 400. Getting them out is another story. Have the tool ? or remove pan,linkage nut and the stupid gm nail/pin.

I've built a couple of those, been years, they are kind of a mix breed of a powerglide and a THM350, I can't recall which seal it carries, and I am at home right now and don't have access to my parts books, but I will check in the morning and let you know if you don't find out sooner.

I just logged in to my transmission parts supplier, and the seal for the manual shift linkage is the same for the 350 and ST300, Oh and Steve, the Powerglide is different. I have a tool that threads into the inside diameter of the old seal, and has a bolt that turns against the end of the shaft to remove the old seal. I use a 1/2" socket to install the new one, you have to be careful though and get the lip of the new seal started all the way around the shaft before you drive it in, or you'll cut it.
