I decided to replace the rear control arm bushings because the rear suspension made a clunking noise when backing out of the driveway. As it turns out the upper control arm bushing on the frame side was shot and must have been moving. The end result is the bolt holes in the frame have elongated. There is about 1/16 of an inch play when i fit the new bolt. Any ideas on an easy fix? do i need to fix them?

you could ream the hole for a shoulder bushing, weld up the hole and remachine or just weld a thick washer over the worn hole on the proper position

Normal bolt to hole clearance is around 1/32".
I'm wondering if being slightly larger really matters.

Fill edges of the whole with weld, grind both sides flat and re-drill the hole, or just weld a washer on there. Doesn't get much easier than that...

Hey thanks guys. Im going to see if there is enough room to get a drill in there, if there is i'll try welding it up and re-driling. If not i'll weld a washer in.
