Hi guys, I posted a week ago about my chevelle making a chattering noise when I got on the gas at all. I checked the T/C bolts they are tight and I just installed new u-joints less than two years ago, I did regrease them and inspect them they seem fine. The noise seems like it is coming from around the rear of motor front tranny area.I had a couple guys tell me that they had that problem and it turned out to be a bad bearing in the motor. Does that sound like a possibility? If so how do I find out for sure? Or does anyone have more ideas on what to look for.Thanks,Ken

Without actually hearing the noise, its very hard to figure out what it might be. It almost sounds like you are getting some "pinging" like you would get with too low an octane fuel, or caused by any number of other things. But...without actually hearing the noise, evryone would be jsut guessing. My advice would be to see if you can find a good shop to at least listen to the noise and give you some idea which way to start.
